Rant: Fads and some funny things

Fad bracelets. You have seen them, yellow, blue, pink, black, white and every other color of the rainbow. They first started out as a great cause, Lance Armstrong’s Livestrong to support cancer. I will admit, I bought about 40 of them and gave them out to family members’ way before they became the “thing” to have. It was my way of supporting cancer research because my Father was diagnosed with colon cancer. I wore the bracelet for about a month until I starting seeing everybody and their Mothers wearing them, hell, even George Bush and John Kerry were wearing them. Of course, George and John were only wearing them to get the “kids” to vote for them.

The bracelets were created for everything, “Impeach George Bush”, “Tsunami”, “WWJD” and “Fight Hunger”. When will they stop? Now, if you wear a certain color bracelet they have different meanings It’s just sick and wrong!

All of these bracelets are just one stupid fad that all businesses are going to ride until the kids decide they are not cool anymore and they can’t make anymore money. They are like the “Garbage Pail Kids”,“Baby on Board” and “Miami Vice Fashion” fads in the early 80’s.

As with all fads, they will quietly go away and be replaced with something that is equally annoying.

Now, on to the readings/viewings of the day:

· I’ll take “the rapist” for 200 Alex. All of the Celebrity Jeopardy skits from SNL.

· Drunk Dialing we all have done it at least once in our lives. Had a few to many drinks and then decide to call a dear family member or a best friend? Well, here is drunk dialing at it’s finest.

· Slip of the tongue for this news anchor.

· If you have not seen Dick Cheney get heckled, well here is the video.

· Good thing none of these teachers teach at my kids’ school!

Garbage Pail Kids were way cooler than these bracelets. There's no colored bracelet movie. ;)

I'd kill for a green one that said WWTTD :D

No matter how far out that Celebrity Jeopary skit got, I always though it was hilarious. Of course, Connery was king, but my favorite after him was Burt Reynolds. Oh, I'm sorry, I mean Turd Ferguson. It's a funny name. ;)
